The leveling system is obviously not as deep as other titles out there (like Skyrim as a rather extreme example), but its depth adds enough to make an impact in the game. To top all this off, each player gains experience per level, amount of kills, objectives completed within a mission, relics found etc. Kind of like the fun you had slaughtering mob after mob in (insert any mmo, rpg hack and slash here). Units have some hilarious chirps, enemy mobs make threatening gestures and again the kill effects are satisfying and make for an extremely addictive experience. The sound effects are noticeable and immersive. Character movement and general animations are smooth and satisfying to watch. The visual style of the game is engrossing and reminds me of a Blizzard title - polished. (To get my point across I am playing the game with my wife and four year old son) Having to key combo stratagems adds a level of intensity and challenge to the battlefield and quite honestly if they made it a one button action, it would make the game extremely boring.
